It was around 1:15 a.m. and I started coughing. Not wanting to wake my sweet husband, I made my way to the living area. I felt like that poor person in the commercial from years past who couldn't sleep because of "sniffling, sneezing, runny nose..." You remember the commercial?
Honestly, before essential oils, that was our go-to medicine when we needed to sleep and a cold was preventing it. But now, I have a new go-to!
Desperately wanting sleep at 2:30 a.m., I went to my essential oil drawer and saw my bottle of eucalyptus oil.
I rubbed it on my chest and neck then layered Shield (by Spark Naturals or use On Guard for dōTERRA or Thieves for Young Living) on top. Then, I went back to bed. **NOTE** I do not recommend applying essential oils directly to skin without diluting in a carrier oil. Read more on dilution HERE.
And I only woke once with a cough.
Thanks to all of you who have responded on my Facebook page with your favorite way to deal with a cold. Your help has been so valuable!
I'll be hitting it hard diffusing eucalyptus with Shield by Spark Naturals or use On Guard for doTerra or Thieves for Young Living (AKA Eucalypt-a-Shield) and I made a roller bottle with Eucalypt-a-Shield and fractionated coconut oil (We use Dr. Adorable from Amazon).
I've chosen to use my new diffuser from Aroma2Go, so that I can have it with me when I'm in the car, at my desk or anywhere in the house! Have you seen this diffuser? I'm enjoying it tremendously.
Be Blessed and Be Well!
